Jim Ciesla Wood Bio

Jim, born and raised near Buffalo N.Y., is a second generation woodworker and
has now been woodworking for more than 45 years. He received his first set of
tools from his father (after his passing) at age 9 and spent his younger years
with various woodworking projects. After receiving two mechanical engineering
degrees he spent his early work years designing batteries for heart
pacemakers, high energy density batteries for oil well drilling and then became
a computer network architect, along with some side work in photography. In
1987 Jim moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. That opened a whole new world of
Southern woods to be fashioned into one-of-a-kind treasures.
I have a passion to turn wood into a finely engineered and, in the end, a
beautiful form so distinctive it is meant to be a functional work of art. A deep
adoration for the beauty in wood and presenting it in my creations keeps me
mentally alive.
